Dahiru-Bauchi cautions Nigerians against divisive comments

A renown Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru-Bauchi, has cautioned Nigerians against inflammatory and inciting comments capable of affecting the corporate existence of the country.
Sheikh Bauchi made the appeal, in Bauchi on Monday, when he was decorated as Ambassador of  Peace by the leadership of the National Union of Adamawa Students.
He said as the 2023 election approaches, it was imperative for Nigerians to live in peace with one another.
The Islamic scholar said without peace, unity, mutual respect and sincerity of purpose, no nation would prosper and realise its potentials.
“Nigeria is blessed by God Almighty. Nigerians should continue to dutifully pray for lasting peace and stability in the country, we would not relent in praying for the good of the nation,” he said.
He described the instances of banditry, vandalism, kidnapping, armed robbery and other vices as saddening and unfortunate.
Earlier, Malam Abubakar Nurudden, President of the Union, said the investiture of the Sheikh was in consideration of his positive contributions to the promotion of national unity and scholarship.
He described Dahiru-Bauchi as a strong pillar of national unity, who promoted mutual respect in his sermons and preaching sessions. (NAN)
