Run for elective positions, APC South East Youth Leader charges youths

holds one day retreat for all state youth leaders, deputies and Senatorial youths in all 5 South East States in Owerri

365Daily – The South East Zonal Youth Leader of All Progressives Congress (APC), Odu Olisaemeka Onyeka, has urged the party’s youths to contest for elective positions in their various constituencies in the 2023 elections.

He gave this charge while addressing newly elected State Youth Leaders, their deputies and the Senatorial Zone APC Youth Leaders at a one day retreat at Concorde hotel,  Owerri, Imo State, during the week.

According to him, youths must shun social vices and join the race for the leadership of the country in order to be part of policy making and to position them to determine their own future in Nigeria.

”I want to advise youths to shun personal gains and support their fellow youths who will be contesting election in any elective positions in 2023,” he stated.

Onyeka advised the newly elected Youth Leaders to lead by example and shun acts capable of bringing down their image and that of the party.

”As our party Youth Leaders in the South East, we have upon us the responsibility to market our party in our various states,” he stated.

The outgoing Zonal Youth Leader noted that APC led by President Muhammadu Buhari has shown commitment in developing the South East, especially in the area of road construction, human capacity building and infrastructure.

He also applauded the efforts of Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma, in harnessing the potentials of the youths of the South East zone and supporting them towards becoming stakeholders in governance and self reliance.

Also adding his voice, the Imo State APC Youth Leader and the Chief host of the event, Comrade Udoka Iwueke, said Governor Hope Uzodimma had done well in youth development and in curbing the security challenges that had bedeviled the state. He enjoined the youths to take active parts in politics and determine who governs them.

He thanked the youths for coming to Imo state and prayed for their safe journey back to their respective states.

In attendance were the Youth Leaders from Anambra, Enugu, Abia, Imo States. The Ebonyi State youth delegates were unavoidably absent but other Youth Stakeholders from the zone were present.

Among them were odogwu Deka Odogwu, immediate Past Imo State Youth Leader, Comrade Paschal Candle, National Coordinator, South East APC Young Progressive Forum, Representatives of Niger Delta Youth Leaders from the Zone.
