365Daily – Chike Akunyili, the husband of the late ex-DG of NAFDAC, Dora Akunyili, has been reportedly murdered by unknown gunmen in Anambra State.
No official statement has been made on the incident.
The deceased, who was a medical doctor, was said to have been killed alongside his driver and Police orderly.
Anonymous family sources said he was going to Enugu after attending an event in Onitsha in honour of his late wife when he was ambushed by unknown gunmen in Umuoji, Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State on Tuesday evening.
He died later from gunshot wounds.
Dr. Akunyili hailed from Agulu, Anambra State and owned St. Leo Hospital in Enugu.
