PDP floors APC in Kajuru Local Government chairmanship election

The opposition party in Kajuru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, the Peoples Democratic Party has won the chairmanship election in the local government area of the State.

Also, the PDP also won nine councilorship positions, while the All Progressives Party (APC) won only one seat.

Declaring the result, the Returning Officer, Dr Ibrahim DanMaraya, said Ibrahim Gajere polled 14,432 as against the 9,095 votes of the immediate past chairman and candidate of the APC, Honourable Cafra AB Caino.

DanMaraya said, “Hon. Gajere of the PDP, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared winner of the election and returned elected.”

However, the result for Chikun council is still pending.

The Independent National Electoral Commission had initially scheduled the election to take place on September 4, 2021, but it was rescheduled for this Saturday, citing security reasons.
