My battles with domestic violence, parenting a violent autistic son – Kemi Olunloye

Social Media is the right place to tell the world your mind. If I did not tell the world about Mr Babs Ogunade impregnating me at 22, when he was 30, nothing would have happened.

I lived THREE DECADES in silence raising a developmental disabled child who was profoundly autistic. By 25, he was no longer violent and no longer lived with me but in an independent living facility. I did it alone by myself. My head was smashed against the wall many times by him whole restraining him. I received nosebleeds, the trauma I experienced cannot be described.

The least Ogunade can do is to pay me the back child support I so much need now. I have never been able to recover my finances after Autism. The court had an order in 1987 for $467/mo. They could not locate Babs. He had married, had children and moved on with his life.

Nobody helped me. My family the Olunloyos all abandoned me calling my son a “cursed werey” my same dad who took him to a ritualist claiming he did not talk. All this without my knowledge when he went to Nigeria to vacation with them. I worked three jobs, babysitters left one after the other. They couldn’t manage Enitan. I lost several pharmacy jobs from calling out a lot. I decided to go back to school to get another degree, I studied Public Relations and then Journalism then added two more first class degrees so I could work and take care of my son. I thought getting engaged and married to the next person was a good idea, instead I broke my engagement off as I was constantly beaten by my fiance Woyin Iluyomade, something his family accepted telling me “Shebi he’s already accepted your autistic child”. Woyin beat me so bad they had to remove my baby urgently.

Oyinlade is my second child whom they came back to take from me via the state because of the danger in the house. My autistic child bit him all over during episodes. I have not seen him for 18 years. He will be 30 years in two months. My outstanding child support is all I want from Babs Ogunade. He lives a very lavish life in Lekki and he’s the Executive VP of the Nigerian Basketball Federation. I know his salary and he’s very successful. My total child support for 18 years is $437x18yrs $100,872
(N50M,436,000) With that 50M I can buy my own small apartment and a car in Lagos instead of using bike and Keke, bus and Uber or even paying rent. It can help me a lot. That is all I want.
