365Daily – Nigeria’s fastest man, Enoch Adegoke, finished in the last place in the men’s 100 metre final of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics on Sunday.
He pulled his muscle in his first final at the Olympics and had to stop along the way.
Earlier on Sunday, Adegoke qualifying for the final of 100m men’s event broke a 25 years jinx, since Davidson Ezinwa achieved the feat at the Atlanta 1996 Olympic Games, after running 10.00secs in his semi-final race.
Italy’s Lamont Marcell Jacobs outshone a field of unusual suspects to claim a shock Olympic gold, breaking retired Jamaican star Usain Bolt’s 13-year hold on the blue riband event.
Jacobs, 26, timed a European record of 9.80 seconds, with American Fred Kerley taking silver in 9.84sec in one of the most understated major championship 100m races of recent times.
Canada’s Andre de Grasse, a bronze medallist at the 2016 Rio Games, repeated the feat in 9.89sec.
