Anambra Guber: Court reinstates Soludo as APGA candidate

By Gabriel Atumeyi

365Daily– Justice Charles Okey of Awka High Court 2 has reinstated Professor Chukwuma Soludo as the authentic candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in the November 6 Anambra State Governorship Election.

365Daily had earlier reported that INEC replaced Soludo with Chukwuma Umeoji, a sitting member of the House of Representatives, as the flagbearer of APGA, in deference to a Jigawa court order.

Prior to the primary elections, APGA had been rocked by a leadership crisis with two factions laying claims to the leadership of the party.

While the Victor Oye-led faction, recognised by INEC, conducted the primaries that produced Prof. Soludo; the Jude Okeke faction conducted another primary that declared Umeoji as the party’s candidate.

Both factions have sought restraining orders against the other, compelling the electoral management body to recognise its primary winner as the party’s flagbearer for the election.
