365Daily – Security operatives have dispersed Yoruba Nation protesters from the Gani Fawehinmi Park with tear gas and water cannon.
This is just as traditionalists in their while attires joined the rally, demanding for an Oduduwa Nation.
The agitators scampered for safety but re-converged to continue the rally.
They had earlier stormed the Gani Fawehinmi venue of the rally to clamour for the creation of a Yoruba Nation.
The Ojota, Lagos venue had been taken over by security agencies in the early hours of Saturday, July 3, 2021.
As at the scheduled take off time of 9am, the Yoruba Nation organisers and agitators were nowhere to be seen.
365Daily recalls that the convener of the rally, Sunday Adeyemo, aka Sunday Igboho, had to go underground following a raid by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS), on his Soka, Ibadan residence on July 1, 2021.
The DSS subsequently declared him wanted after they allegedly found arms in his house during the raid.
2 deaths and properties were recorded in the early morning raid.
Also, the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Hakeem Odumosu, warned that the rally would not be allowed to hold in the state.
