A socio-ethnic group, Igbo Leadership Development Foundation (ILDF) has projected four people as candidates the Igbo nation will throw their weight behind in pursuant to the actualisation of Igbo presidency come 2023.

The organisation made their stand known on Thursday, March 25, 2021, in Abuja at a press conference where they pencilled down the former secretary to the government of the federation, Senator Anyim Pius Anyim; the current minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu; former Anambra state governor, Mr. Peter Obi, and former CEO of Pfizer, Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa.

Speaking for the ILDF, its Director, Public Affairs,  Dr. Law Mefor said anything short of fielding candidates from the Southeast extraction by the two  major political parties; the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will attract legal action.

They frowned at the Governor  Bala Mohammed’s Committee that recommended to the PDP to throw open its contest, saying it was a ploy to deprive the Southeast from taking a shot at the number seat of power.
