The Executive Chairman of Ohaozara local government area of Ebonyi State, Princess Nkechinyere Iyioku, on Wednesday, March 17, 2021, flagged off the Federal Government’s National Directorate of Employment ( NDE) Special Public Work Programme at the council’s headquarters, Obiozara.
The main objective of the NDE programme, Iyioku said, was to empower the workforce to be more dedicated to environmental sanitation and cleanliness of the council areas.
The programme is meant to last for three (3) months across the 774 LGAs across the country.
In her speech, Iyioku, who is also the Chairperson of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ebonyi State chapter, admonished the participants to take the opportunity seriously and work wholeheartedly in order to earn the trust reposed on them.
She charged their supervisors to oversee the work effectively throughout the period of the programme.
The NDE participants were presented with sanitation cum cleaning tools such as brooms, cutlasses, shovels, rakes and others working tools.
