Kubwa residents storm fun spots to celebrate Valentine

Residents of Kubwa in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), trooped out to celebrate Valentine’s Day with their loved ones, causing human and vehicular traffic on major roads.

Some of the visited fun spots were filled to capacity while fun seekers said they were happy they could go out with their loved ones to celebrate the day.

Mrs Winifred Samson, a fun seeker, said she was happy that she could go out to celebrate the day with her husband and children.

“I am happy that God kept us alive to see this day and I am able to celebrate it with my family.

“I am even happy that we can even come out, not like during the lockdown when we could not come out,” she said.

Mr Gabriel Nwachukwu, who expressed bitterness over the gridlock, attributed it to wrong parking by most of the fun seekers.

“I just went to buy somethings in an eatery and before I came out, someone had parked behind me.

“The security guards had to go inside to start looking for the owner of the car that blocked me; some people just park their cars without thinking of others,” he said.

COVID-19 protocols were observed at the fun spots with all the fun seekers wearing their facemasks, while those without the masks were denied entry.
