Preparing for a glorious tomorrow

By Pastor Wale OlaOluwa

What a privilege from God Almighty who has made it possible for us to see another breaking of the day; and the beginning of another glorious week.

Today, we receive the word of God freely in power and authority to set us in motion for achieving our aims or plans in year 2021 and beyond as we look at the topic:

PREPARING FOR THE FUTURE

2 Chronicles 27:6,8

“So Jotham became mighty, because he prepared his ways before the LORD his God…He was five and twenty years old when he began to reign, and reigned sixteen years in Jerusalem”

Preparation is essential and very needful in any area of life. Nothing great, or worthwhile can be done and achieved without preparing for it first.

Lack of preparation can hamper the future; stagnate today and distort progression of life eventually.

Those who value, and pursue the demand of preparation; and also stayed prepared, have great chances of attaining their dreams in life.

What Is Preparation?

Preparation is the act, and science of preparing; or getting ready by making necessary and required arrangement to pursue a goal, or achieve a desired target.

Preparation is a conscious effort to plan deliberately, objectively, decisively, mentally, spiritually, academically, emotionally, physically, financially, etc.

Beyond the usual general confessions and printing of stickers to tag a new year, as it has become a religious ritual; such as “2021: my year of greatness; my year of rising; my year of breakthrough etc; you must make an effort to prepare for your intention or desire in the coming year.

Positive confession is good, but preparation is better. To do and have both will be a great advantage to our desires and expectations.

Why Do You Need Preparation?

1. Preparation is the fulcrum of any success to be attained.
2. Preparation now will prevent pathetic performance in future.
3. Preparation will always lead to manifestation.
4. When preparation meets opportunity, the future will be great.
5. Preparation is an antidote for confusion of thought, stagnation, oppression and failure.
6. Preparation will embolden your pursuit in any endeavour.
7. Preparation will distinguish and make you the best among the rest; and be sought after always.
8. Preparation will help you assess your strength and weaknesses.
9. Preparation will give you an edge over your equals, mates, friends or colleagues
10. Preparation will help you absorb shock of any kind, In case of volatility.
11. Preparation can help you source for; utilize and manage resources well.
12. Preparation will help you streamline your priority.

Farmers always prepare for planting seasons. Doctors prepare to attend to and treat their patients. Pilots prepare to fly. Pastors prepare to preach. Students enrol in schools to prepare for a greater future. Soldiers prepare for battle. The greater your preparation, the better your result will be.

Whatever is in your heart to do; to pursue; to begin in order to achieve something tangible in the coming year, start preparing for it now!

Itemize everything . Draw plans on them. If you need to seek counsel, do. If you need to study, or research, do. If you need to learn new skills, do.

And after that,
You can commit it into the hands of the Lord, and He will direct your path to greatness

Psalms 37:5
Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
