Help, When you are broken down

By Pastor Josiah Kehinde

“But You deal with me and act for me, O God the Lord, for Your name’s sake; because Your mercy and loving-kindness are good, O deliver me. For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded and stricken within me. I am gone like the shadow when it lengthens and declines; I toss up and down and am shaken off as the locust. My knees are weak and totter from fasting; and my body is gaunt and has no fatness. I have become also a reproach and a taunt to others; when they see me, they shake their heads. Help me, O Lord my God; O save me according to Your mercy and loving-kindness!— That they may know that this is Your hand, that You, Lord, have done it.”
Psalm 109:21-27 The Amplified Bible

Beloved, perhaps you are not much of a praying man, but our Father in heaven can hear you and show you the way, even when you are at the end of the rope. When you experienced the loneliness, the hopelessness of people who had nowhere to turned and broken down.

The question is, Have you ever felt broken down by life?
When was the last time?
Do you have a family member or friend who currently feels that way, and how might you be of help?

The cry for help is exactly what was voiced in the above scriptural reference. David was at the end of his rope: “For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me” (verse 22), and his body, “My knees are weak and totter from fasting; and my body is gaunt and has no fatness” (verse 24), He was fading “like an evening shadow” (verse 23), and sensed himself to be an “object of scorn” in the eyes of his accusers (verse 25).

In his extreme brokenness, he had nowhere else to turn. He cried out for the Sovereign Lord to show him the way: “Help me, O Lord my God; O save me according to Your mercy and loving-kindness!” (verse 26).

Brethren, there are seasons in our lives when “broken down” says it all. In such times it can be hard to know what to pray. Yet our loving God will respond to our simple prayer for help, because He is our very present help in time of need. Shalom.

I pray that when you are going through hard days that seems hopeless, the Lord will grants you the grace to turn unto Him even in your brokenness and He shall mercifully arise for your help in Jesus name Amen.
i pray that the Lord will turn your weeping to laughter, your sadness and sorrow to joy, and your darkness to morning of celebration of dance of joy in Jesus name Amen.
