The Twin Monster: FEAR & LOW SELF ESTEEM

Matthew 25:24,25

“Then he which had received the one talent came and said,…I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.”

Far beyond money and investment teachings always attached to this passage of the Bible, is a deeper insight of what is responsible for the mess of that young man.

Here, is a case of two principalities you must always deal with to make progress in any endeavour…

1). Fear.
2). Low Self Esteem.

Fear and low self esteem are lethal weapons you must confront to destroy.

One of them can be so devastating and killing. But to have the two contending with you is to have no chance of survival at all, if drastic solution is not applied now.

To start with,

Fear is a debilitating emotion that projects danger and uncertainties; often caused by preconceived perception and superficial threat of failure.

Fear is a bad enemy.
Fear is an entrapment.
Fear is slavery.
Fear is frustrating.
Fear is a force that forces people to submit their wills and ways, willingly.
Fear can make one die before death comes.

On the other hand,
low self esteem is a silent killer.

It will make you feel inferior.
It will make your energy drained
It will make you look defeated.
It will reduce your worth.
It will make you feel abandoned.
It will make you despise yourself, your effort and work.
It will attract bullies and head hunters to you.
It will make you withdraw from people.

If you are under the grip of fear and low self esteem, you can not think right neither can you see opportunities in littleness.

Fear of failing, and his low self esteem made that man bury the opportunity he was given, even when he hasn’t made any effort to try (Matt. 25:24).

He never believed in himself talk less of his inherent potential (ability) to turn things around. He had felt defeated already that he was only given ONE; while others where given two and five, at the same time!
From that time, a sense of inadequacy took over his mind.

Honestly, anyone with low self esteem will give up at that point. He will just conclude that he can’t win in such contest with people that have “more” or are gifted.

In the Bible, the word ‘fear not’ appears 365 times. That is a tablet to take everyday to be in a good state of mind against threat to your well being.

Don’t submit yourself to these monsters. Be bold and daring to pursue your dreams, no matter how big they are because fear isn’t from God.

2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and sound mind.”

Take back your life from fear and low self esteem. Make a decision and take action on your desire. If at all you fail, you will take another decision to correct the mistake. But not to make attempt at all will keep you in the doldrum of uncertainty. So don’t be in a fix, take action.

John Mason said, “Never respond out of fear, and never fear to respond. Action attacks fear; inaction reinforces it.”

Take action against fear and low self esteem.

Talk when you need to talk
Act when you need to act
Move when you need to move.

Don’t surrender your liberty to these monsters.

I pray for you.
May Jehovah God break the stronghold of the spirit of fear over you; and cause a restoration where your self esteem is damaged, abused or ridiculed.

You are lifted.
