The Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of police personnel attached to 60 corporate bodies and personalities, including the former aviation minister, Femi Fani-Kayode; former secretary to the state government, Babachir Lawal and billionaire businessman, Emeka Offor.
The IGP noted that the listed persons and companies still had police personnel attached to them in contravention of an earlier directive withdrawing them.
The order was contained in a letter with reference no.CB: 4001/IGP.SEC/ABJ/VOL.116/32 dated November 4, addressed to Commissioners of Police, Police Mobile Force, Special Protection Unit and all Commissioners of Police in the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory by the IG.
