A civil society organization (CSO) operating in Kebbi State, Grassroots Advocacy for Peace and Good Governance has thrown its weights behind the call by the House of Representatives seeking the immediate resignation of the minister for Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu and his minister of state for allegedly refusing to release budget funds in 2025 set aside for capital projects across the country.
The national chairman of the CSO, Comrade Usman Muhammed Anche, in a statement on Wednesday stated that the two ministers entrusted with the release of funds for onward implementation of capital projects in 2025 are thwarting efforts of President Bola Tinubu in his infrastructure drive across the country.
Anache alleged that despite the increased revenue of N28 trillion, which is way above the target of N25 trillion earmarked for capital projects across the country, the duo have refused to release the funds causing loses and budget review.
“We will not fold our hands to allow some persons, for their own interest thwart the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Tinubu, therefore we back the call for their resignations”.
The CSO also called on non-governmental and civil societies organizations across the country to support the National Assembly on the their call for their resignation.
Anache added that at Grassroots for Peace and Good Governance, they are calling on President Tinubu to weird in on the matter and hammer any under-performing political appointee in the country.
