Governor Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State has urged security chiefs to do everything possible to end banditry in Sokoto State.
Governor Ahmad Aliyu made this call while receiving newly appointed security chiefs at the Government House in Sokoto.
According to Governor Aliyu, the call has become necessary considering the achievements the state government has recorded in the fight against banditry and other criminal activities in the state.
The governor described the people of the state as peaceful and law-abiding, urging the newly appointed security chiefs to collaborate in achieving the set objectives.
He stated that despite the banditry crisis that has plagued the state for over a decade, the people of Sokoto still support the peace and stability for which the state is known for.
In their remarks, the security chiefs commended Governor Aliyu’s efforts in addressing the numerous security challenges facing parts of the state, as well as the ongoing development projects across the state.
They also assured the governor of their commitment to supporting the state government in ensuring lasting peace and security in Sokoto State.
