The training is first of its kind and will have positive impacts on our performances and the services we provide
No fewer than 32 staff members of Public Complaints Commission (PCC) are undergoing leadership and team management training for enhanced productivity and service delivery in Kebbi.
The commission’s Director of Investigation in the state, Mr Bashir Zakari, who declared the five-day workshop open on Tuesday in Birnin Kebbi, stressed the importance of leadership in any organisation to avoid confusion.
Zakari noted that it was in realisation of this that PCC had to establish an effective programme to meet the needs of the public and the staff members.
The director said that the gesture was aimed at equipping the commission’s staffers with effective knowledge in order to enhance productivity in the discharge of their duties.
“The aim of the training is to equip and enhance our knowledge in the discharge of our official duties in the office.
“We have 32 staffers, and we are expecting them, after the training, to go back to their offices to deliver on their mandate much more than before,” he said.
Zakari said that the commission is committed to addressing complaints by using Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), such as mediation and arbitration, among others.
He called on the general public to report any complaint in the state to either the PVC office in Birnin Kebbi or any of the local government areas of the state instead of fighting, to ensure peaceful coexistence.
Speaking on behalf of the participants, Abubakar Ahmad commended the PCC management for the ‘well-organised’ informative training.
“The training is first of its kind and will have positive impacts on our performances and the services we provide,” he said.
