365Daily – The palace of His Royal Majesty, King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Amanyanabo of Twon-Brass Kingdom, Bayelsa state, has been destroyed by alleged irate youths, for yet to be identified reasons.
A video circulating in the social media show some youths armed with stones, wood, cudgels and other items, destroying glass window frames, furniture everything on sight in the palace.
There were no reports indicating the whereabouts of the occupants of building, but it was apparent that the King was no where around the palace while the attack was going on.
King Diete-Spiff was the first Military Governor of Rivers State, Nafter it was created from part of the old Eastern Region. He held office from May 1967 until July 1975 during the military administration of General Yakubu Gowon. He was also a member of the Supreme Military Council.
He was a one time National Chairman of the Nigerian Association of Auctioneers.
He was in the 2005 Confab and served in the Committee on Models and Structure of Government. He is in the category of elder statesmen.
