Minister of Transportation, Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, has inaugurated an 11-man investigative panel to probe the books of the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) following the suspension of the former Managing Director (DG) of the agency, Hadiza Bala Usman, over financial impropriety.
The former DG of NPA was last week suspended by President Muhammadu Buhari following a recommendation by the Transportation Minister.
She was accused of under-remitting revenue amounting to N165 billion which was generated by the agency to the coffers of the Federal Government.
The 11-man investigative panel to probe the books of the agency was inaugurated on Monady, May 10, 2021 by Amaechi.
It is chaired by Suleiman Auwalu, Director (Maritime Services) and the Secretary is Gabriel Fan, Deputy Director (Legal services), Federal Ministry of Transportation.
