Trump threatens action if Tehran fails to comply with deal

US President Donald Trump says “all US ships, aircraft, and military personnel” will remain in place around Iran until the “real agreement” on a ceasefire “is fully complied with”, warning of more conflict otherwise.

Lebanon has declared a day of mourning after a wave of Israeli attacks killed more than 200 people and injured more than 1,000 in a single day on Wednesday.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Lebanon was not included in the ceasefire deal between the US and Iran, as US Vice President JD Vance also said, “We never made that promise”.

Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the US-Iran “terms are clear” on Lebanon, and that Washington must choose between a “ceasefire or continued war via Israel. It cannot have both”.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera Media Network has condemned Israel’s “targeting and killing” of Al Jazeera’s correspondent in Gaza, Mohammed Wishah, as a “heinous crime”.

The Israeli prime minister says Israel would keep hitting Hezbollah “wherever necessary”, a day after deadly Israeli strikes pummelled Lebanon.

“We are continuing to strike Hezbollah with force, precision, and determination,” Netanyahu said on his personal X account.

“Our message is clear: anyone who acts against Israeli civilians – we will strike them. We will continue to hit Hezbollah wherever necessary, until we fully restore security to the residents of the north” of Israel, he added.
