365Daily – Ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) national convention, the party’s leadership have have admitted that there are challenges confronting the event scheduled for this weekend.
Disclosing this in Abuja on Monday after leading the Environmental and Sanitation Subcommittee of the convention on a road march, tagged ‘Walk for a cleaner and safer environment,’ the APC national chairman, Nentawe Yilwatda, represented by the Deputy National Organising Secretary, Nze Chidi Duru, and the chairman of the party’s 2026 National Convention Central Coordination Committee, Aminu Bello Masari, stressed there was no cause for alarm as all the challenges were surmountable,
“We want the country to know that we are not just preparing for our convention but also for our primaries.”
“Are there challenges, yes, but they are ones that are surmountable. Whatever challenges we can have for Saturday’s convention can be overcomed. APC has shown that it is a resilient, ensuring party and a party built and anchored on time tested ideology,” the APC chairman said.
Speaking earlier at the event, Masari noted that there is no nothing unusual facing the party, saying, “Yes are are some challenges, but do you live life without challenges? Exactly, there are some. When you left your house to come here, didn’t you face challenges? Other traffickers will interrupt you. Life without challenges is meaningless.
“As for our readiness, why are you asking the obvious when you have seen it? I can tell you that we are ready and the event will go on as planned,” he assured.
In her remarks, the secretary of the sanitation subcommittee, Senator Uche Ekwulife, who represented the chairman, Governor Usman Ododo, thanked everyone for ”coming out to let Nigeria know that APC is prepared.”
She added that the ruling party was prepared for the convention and the 2027 election,” while expressing confidence that ”we are going to return our President, President Bola Tinubu and our Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima.”
“We want to let them know that we are not just green, we are ready, we are prepared, we are confident that 2027, APC is going to win landslide, 90 per cent of all the vote cast in Nigeria. President Tinubu is coming back,” she added.
Those in attendance at the event included former Senate President Senator Pius Anyim Pius; former governor of Cross River State Ben Ayade; former Speaker of the House of Representatives Yakubu Dogara.
