365Daily – The Senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has commenced the distribution of food items to Muslim and Christian stakeholders across the district as part of efforts to support constituents during the Ramadan and Lent seasons.
The intervention targeted religious leaders, market women, women’s groups, youths and civil society organisations, with the items aimed at cushioning the impact of rising living costs on vulnerable households.
Speaking through her legislative aide, Alhaji Dr. Salami, the lawmaker said the outreach was informed by prevailing economic challenges, noting that leadership must respond to the immediate needs of the people.
She emphasised the need for unity across religious divides, describing both Ramadan and Lent as periods that call for sacrifice, compassion and collective responsibility.
According to her, the distribution is part of a broader commitment to ensure that governance delivers direct impact at the grassroots.
Beneficiaries across the district commended the gesture, describing it as timely and supportive, particularly as families contend with increasing cost of living.
