365Daily – Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon. Benjamin Kalu, on Tuesday led a delegation of legislators on a condolence visit to the family of the late  Chamberlain Dunkwu, Deputy Chief of Staff to Speaker Tajudeen Abbas in Abuja.

Speaking during the visit, he expressed shock and sadness over the sudden death of Dunkwu, whom he described as a dedicated, active, and cheerful aide to the Speaker who executed his duties with admirable enthusiasm.

He noted that it is more devastating losing someone who showed no sign of ill health prior to his death.

Kalu said, “It is indeed with a heavy heart and sombreness that we have come to accept this very sad reality,” Kalu said. “Like many within the Parliament, I had the privilege of sharing a warm and cordial relationship with Dr. Chamberlain, whose presence and dedication made a lasting impression on all who worked with him.

“Dr. Chamberlain was more than an aide to the Speaker; he was a friend to all, dedicated, active, and cheerfully executing his duties with admirable enthusiasm. He lit up every room he entered with his positive energy.

“Just the night before the news of his demise, he was at the Iftar dinner organised by the Speaker and, as usual, was cheerfully welcoming all who came into the venue.

“The pain of this loss is not one that words can fully capture; however, we yield to the will of the Almighty God, Who is the Giver of life. In this time of grief and sadness, we are reminded of the fragility of life and the finality of death, and we reflect deeply on our journey through it.”

Kalu commiserated with the Speaker and the family of the deceased, praying for the repose of Dunkwu’s soul.

“I mourn with the Office of the Speaker, the Nigeria Aquatics Federation, and most importantly, the immediate family of Dr. Chamberlain Dunkwu. I pray that the Almighty grants them divine comfort and the strength to bear this irreparable loss. Dr. Chamberlain will be greatly missed in the House of Representatives. May his soul rest in peace,” he said.
