The Super Eagles of Nigeria have won bronze as a consolation prize having missed out in the ultimate goal of winning the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) following their 4-2 defeat to host Morocco.

Eagles secured their third-place finish, defeating Egypt 4-2 in a penalty shootout as the match ended in a 0-0 draw after regulation time.

Goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali was the standout player, making a man-of-the-match performance.

Recall that the Super Eagles had previously topped Group C with a perfect record and had advanced through the knockout stages, including a 4-0 rout of Mozambique in the Round of 16 and a 2-0 win over Algeria in the quarter-finals.
