In a show of appreciation for warm and cordial relationship between Kebbi Presidential Lodge Tennis Veterans, two tennis teams namely Ina Wuro team representing Kebbi State first lady, Zainab Nasir Idris and team B representing Gimbiyar Kola – the president, National Council of Women Societies, (NCWS) Hadiza Muhammed Kola, on Wednesday locked horns to honour the two great daughters of Kebbi State.
The tennis match was held in Birnin Kebbi to foster unity and cement existing relationship between the host who is also the housekeeper of the tennis court to appreciate them on their conferment of traditional titles by the district head of Kola, Alhaji Aliyu Bello Kola for their immense positive contributions to Kola town.
Speaking shortly after the kickoff by Kebbi State NCWS President, the chairman, Kebbi State Football Federation, Alhaji Abubakar Chika Ladan described both Kebbi first lady and Hadiza Kola as proud daughters of Kebbi state who contributed hugely to the growth of tennis in the state.
“We gathered here today to celebrate and appreciate their support to our tennis team hence our reason to organize this match to honour them”, he said.

Earlier, the district head of Kola, Alhaji Aliyu Bello Kola said that Kebbi first lady, Zainab Nasare Idris has proven to be a worthy daughter of Kola town as she is being supported by Gimbiyar Kola, Hadiza Kola in humanitarian gestures.
“I am happy to be part of this special tennis match to encourage them to do more for the people of Kebbi State”
In her appreciation speech, the NCWS President thanked those who came all the way to witness the tennis match organised in their honour.
“I have no words for Kebbi first lady, Zainab Nasir Idris for her immeasurable contributions to humanity particularly poor women and orphans in the society as she is conferred with the title of ‘Inna Wuro’, which means mother of Kola town. We celebrate her and her husband, Dr Nasir Idris for his efforts in turning around the fortunes of Kebbi.
However, at the end of the tennis match, Inna Wuro team belonging to Kebbi first lady defeated Gimbiyar Kola which came behind with four points and winners with six points.
