365Daily – President Bola Tinubu on Thursday decorated the newly appointed Service Chiefs, a day after their confirmation by the National Assembly.
The new appointees replace the former Service Chiefs who were dismissed by the President on October 16, 2025, as part of a major shake-up in the nation’s security architecture. Those affected included General Christopher Musa, Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, and Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, who had been in office since mid-2023.
The ceremony, held at the Council Chambers of the State House, Abuja, began at 1:28 p.m., with General Olufemi Olatubosun Oluyede, Chief of Defence Staff, receiving his insignia first. He was followed by Lieutenant General Emmanuel Undiendeye, Chief of Defence Intelligence; Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff; Vice Admiral Idi Abass, Chief of Naval Staff; and Air Marshal Kevin Aneke, Chief of Air Staff. The President was assisted by the Service Chiefs’ spouses.
Dignitaries at the event included Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker Tajudeen Abass, Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin, SGF George Akume, Chief of Staff Femi Gbajabiamila, and Head of Service Didi Walson-Jack.
Also in attendance were National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, Defence Minister Abubakar Badaru, Information Minister Mohammed Idris, NGF Chairman AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and heads of key security agencies including the Police, DSS, NIA, EFCC, and NIMC.
