Lobi Stars Football Club of Makurdi has stated that the unwavering commitment, notable character and the light brought to the club by late football icon and its former chairman, Prince Simon Aondona would be forever remembered.
In a condolence massage to the family of the deceased by the Chairman of Lobi Stars FC, Dr. Philip Nongu, Tuesday, in Makurdi, said the club received the news with heavy hearts and grief, yet filled with gratitude for a life well spent.
Nongu on behalf of the club’s board, management, staff, and players extended their deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
He noted that Prince Aondona was a towering figure in Lobi Stars’ history, having served as Acting Sole Administrator and substantive Chairman in the early 1990s.
According to Dr. Nongu, the deceased led the club with unmatched passion and visionary leadership.
He argued that beyond his role at Lobi Stars, Prince Aondona also served with distinction as a Member of the Federal House of Representatives for Gwer/Gwer West Federal Constituency.
He said the club would always remember the fallen football administrator, Prince Aondoana as a mentor, a passionate builder of football, and a father figure.
Nongu also pointed out that his legacy is etched in the soul of Lobi Stars, having laid a foundation of stability, growth, and excellence.
The club’s Chairman, Lobi Stars FC who said Prince Aondona’s commitment to the club would be forever remembered, prayed God to grant his gentle soul eternal rest while his legacy continues to inspire generations to come.
