In a formal ceremony held this afternoon at the Council Chambers of Government House, Dutse, Governor Umar Namadi signed into law the Jigawa State Hisba Board Bill, officially establishing the Hisba Board as a statutory body under the Jigawa State Government.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by members of the State Executive Council, including the Deputy Governor, Engr. Aminu Usman, and members of the Jigawa State House of Assembly, led by the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Sani Isyaku.
Speaking shortly after appending his signature, Governor Namadi described the occasion as a remarkable achievement, marking the culmination of over eight months of legislative and administrative effort.
“Today, we have signed into law the Hisba Bill, which establishes the Hisba Board as an official institution in Jigawa State. This is a process that began seven to eight months ago, and today, by the grace of Allah, we have concluded it,” he said.
The governor prayed for Allah’s continued guidance for the Hisba Board and expressed hope that its operations would bring greater social order and moral discipline to the state.
He urged Hisba personnel to conduct their duties with the fear of Allah, fairness, and dedication.
Governor Namadi also commended the Hisba Board Establishment Committee for their outstanding commitment, hard work, and sacrifice in diligently carrying out their mandate.
With the signing of this law, the Hisba Board is now fully empowered to operate across Jigawa State in line with its mandate to promote moral guidance, social justice, and community well-being.
