The Kebbi State Police Command has issued a stern warning to vehicles owners using unauthorized sirens, tinted glasses and covered and/or diplomat number plates in Kebbi State.
CP Bello. M. Sani gave the warning on Friday in a statement signed and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi by Kebbi Police imagemaker, CSP Nafiu Abubakar.
The statement added that the law banning use of sirens, tinted glasses and covered spy number by members of the public is still in force.
“Let me once again warn users of sirens, tinted glasses and covered number plates to desist forthwith otherwise the long arm of the law will catch up with them and will be treated as law breakers” he said.
The state police chief added that DPOs and tactical squads have been given the matching order to enforce the law with no holds barred on defaulters in Kebbi state.
He maintained that only the president, vice president, top Senate boss and state governors are permitted by law to use sirens, while the police, army and other paramilitary organization are allowed to use spy numbers, tinted glasses and covered number plates in the country.
