My mission is to put smile on faces of every sad, unhappy, crying child

A non-governmental organization, Beam Child Foundation, Wednesday, took their medical outreach on malaria to the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camp located at Durumi – Area 1 in Abuja, where they conducted malaria tests on women and children, distributed drugs, treated mosquito nets, malaria insurance as well as Holy Bible.
Speaking to newsmen, founder Beam Child Foundation, Mrs. Ruth Garshom said her mission is to put smile on faces of every sad child so that he can be happy like his counterparts born with silver spoon.
According to her, “My mission is to put smile on faces of every sad, unhappy, crying child. Our goal is to make every vulnerable child, every underprivileged child, every orphan, and to put smile on their faces.
“Most of the people here are sick because it is rainy season, there is a lot of mosquito in the camp, and we feel it is necessary to come and give them anti-malaria materials like treated mosquito nets, drugs, health insurance, food and drinks and of course the word of God, which is the bible. Their smile is my joy”.
She said though they already have some partners, but they are still soliciting for more.
“We have partners like Wellahealth, Christmas in the City and others. We just solicit for support from different people. We have kind spirited individuals and organizations who support us”.
Speaking, the IDPs camp secretary, Mr. Bala Yusuf said they are grateful to Beam Child Foundation for what they have come to do in their camp, especially the medical outreach, because health is wealth.
“The only thing we can say to the federal government and the good people of Nigeria is that these are kind of NGOs they should support, because they are willing to help people on their own, and I believe government joins hands with them, they would do more”, Yusuf said.
On his part, Mr. Obiagba Garshom who is the husband of Ruth, said what his wife is doing is truly what attracted him to her; her love for children, the less-privileged.
“I met her doing it and I fell in love with her, and we are married today. I support her with all I can to see that she continues on this path. For instance, today is her birthday, we are supposed to be celebrating it elsewhere, but she said this is how she wants to observe it, to come and help children and those that are in dire need.
