Police arrest suspect in Sokoto for alleged criminal trespass

The Sokoto State Police Command has apprehended a suspect in connection with a case of criminal conspiracy, house trespass, theft, and receiving stolen property. The incident occurred on May 8, 2024, at approximately 6:00 p.m., when unknown persons broke into the residence of Mustapha Maikano at Mana Layout.

The Police Public Relations Officer DSP Ahmad Rufa’i said the police recovered the stolen items, which include one inverter freezer, one LG plasma TV, one traveling bag containing personal items, one lace fabric and atamfa as well as set of bed sheets and one center carpet

A tricycle rider provided crucial information that led to the arrest of the principal suspect, Musa Isah, of Tamaje Area, Sokoto.

During a search of his residence, the police discovered the stolen items and a pilgrim’s box labelled with the name Amina Muhammad Lawal.

The police have expanded their investigation and contacted the owner of the pilgrim box. The suspect is currently in custody, and further investigation is ongoing to unravel the circumstances surrounding the crime.
