365Daily – Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has formally left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The defection was confirmed on Wednesday evening after a closed-door meeting at the Government House in Asaba.
Speaking on the development, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, said the move followed “extensive consultations with political stakeholders” and was made “in the interest of Delta’s long-term development.”
Oborevwori, who won the 2023 governorship election on the PDP platform, was welcomed into the APC by top party leaders. Political observers have described the switch as a major realignment with potential ripple effects ahead of the 2027 general elections.
