In a heart-warming display of dedication and public service, six PDP federal lawmakers from Sokoto State have been making excellent strides in improving the lives of their constituents. Their tireless efforts have brought about tangible developments, empowering individuals and fostering community growth. In barely two years stint, this galaxy of representatives have disarmed the weaponry of the ruling APC in the state with their impressive scorecards.
As late, former United States First Lady Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “With the new day comes new strength and new thoughts.” Exactly what the senator without border is doing in Sokoto State. Becoming a Senator after completing his constitutional but excellent two-term tenure as Sokoto State Governor, where he touched almost every spectrum of human endeavour, Senator Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, having risen to the highest level of legislative duty, has not disappointed yet again.
A champion of empowerment, Senator Tambuwal, representing Sokoto South Senatorial District, has been a driving force behind the upliftment of his constituents. His initiatives have equipped youths and women with valuable resources, including sewing and grinding machines to promote entrepreneurship, chest freezers and pumping machines to support small-scale businesses, scholarships to enable access to education, and hundreds of vehicles to facilitate transportation. His leadership has earned him a father-figure status within the PDP in Sokoto, representing all three districts.
Senator Tambuwal has always been a force to reckon with, and even now, he has been at the forefront of championing the good tidings for the common people. PDP representatives have been lauded both in the chambers and in their respective constituencies.
To begin with, Member Representing Kebbe/Tambuwal Federal Constituency, Hon. Abdussamad Dasuki’s feat in education and empowerment. He has implemented a massive scholarship program worth million. He has also supported farmers with soft grants, fertilizers, insecticides, and farming tools. And also established a communication channel with his constituents. And recently provided Ramadan packages and palliatives to alleviate economic hardships.
My younger brother, Hon. Bashir Usman Gorau’s transformation of Gada and Goronyo Federal Constituency has been making waves in the national newspapers. He has brought unprecedented developments and accomplishments. These include the distribution of hundreds of motorcycles, cars, and tricycles among the two local governments. He empowered women and farmers with irrigation machines, insecticides, seeds, chest freezers, sewing machines, and grinding machines as support. He supported students with scholarships and traditional rulers to promote cultural heritage.
Another proudly open achievement is that of Hon. Umar Yusuf Yabo, and his feat in infrastructure and empowerment. As the Member Representing Yabo/Shagari Federal Constituency, he has facilitated many access roads in his constituency and supported constituents with hundreds of motorcycles, cars, irrigation machines, chest freezers, fertilizers, food palliatives, grinding machines, tricycles, and scholarships to promote education.
Hon. Mani Maishinko Katami’s empowering youths and women is another example of positive representation. The good people of Binji/Silame Federal Constituency have been provided with scholarships, palliatives, and motorcycles by him. He also empowered youths and women through various initiatives.
And Hon. Sa’idu Bargaja’s support for his constituents has been plentiful. Hon. Sa’idu Bargaja, representing Sabon Birni/Isa Federal Constituency, has distributed palliatives to support his constituents.
Each of these lawmakers has sponsored life-impacting bills and motions that benefit their respective constituencies. Their collective efforts demonstrate a deep commitment to the well-being and progress of Sokoto State. As we celebrate their achievements, we acknowledge the positive impact they’ve had on countless lives.
