The Nasarawa Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission has sought the collaboration of the Office of the First Lady, Nasarawa State, in launching the sector’s first Responders of Crash Victims’ Initiative in the state.

The initiative is aimed at enhancing effective and prompt rescue of accident victims. The synergy was part of the resolutions reached when the Sector Commander of the commission, CC Comfort Asom, visited the First Lady, Hajiya Salifat Abdullahi Sule, in her office in Lafia on Wednesday.

This collaboration is to synergise and fight against road abuses that could result in road mishaps in the state.
CC Asom stated that road safety is everybody’s business, hence all hands must be on deck “to ensure accident-free Nasarawa State”.

She commended the government of Nasarawa State for the continued support in the development of road safety activities in the state. CC Asom further appreciated the First Lady for her laudable empowering programmes through women and children’s initiatives across the state.

She said, “We are willing to collaborate with your office to achieve this initiative. We also seek your collaboration in the inauguration of the first responders of crash victims in the state. It is an accident-rescue initiative to ensure prompt response at accident scenes.”

Responding, the First Lady appreciated the sector commander for her visit, and assured her of the support of the First Lady’s office to ensure a safe motoring environment.
