As a patriot, I believe that Cliff will stop at nothing to effect positive change in our beloved region

Chief Jerry Uchenna Wohu, a security expert and political strategist, has commended the vision behind the recently established South East Development Commission (SEDC), which he said is aimed at driving the region’s transformation and economic growth.

The region has been bedevilled by several challenges as a result of long neglect in the areas of infrastructural development , leading to visible decay, economic stagnation, youth unemployment, and insecurity. But all that may soon become a thing of the past with the coming of the SEDC, according to Dr. Wohu, in a statement in Abuja.

He also commended the crucial role played by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu, in the establishment of SEDC.

The statement said:”We must also recognize and applaud the tireless efforts of Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, who has shown unwavering compassion for the Igbo people and has worked tirelessly to ensure the passage of the South East Development Commission bill. His leadership is a testament to the power of collaboration and inclusive governance.

As we move forward, let us draw inspiration from leaders like the Deputy Speaker Kalu. Let us remember the values that have brought us to this moment, and let us strive for a brighter future.”

The Deputy Speaker had said recently at the inauguration of the House Committee on SEDC,”The establishment of the South East Development Commission is a testament to the recognition of the urgent need for targeted infrastructural development, economic revitalization, and social progress in the region…This commission was therefore created to serve as a vehicle for recovery, rebuilding, modernizing, and positioning the Southeast as a hub of innovation, commerce, and industrial growth.”

Speaking further, Dr. Wohu also hailed the crop of individuals appointed to pilot the affairs of the Commission, as “A winning team made up of men and women of integrity.”

He singled out Dr. Clifford Ogbede, Executive Director Rural Development,Agriculture and Natural Resources of the South-East Development Commission, who he described as an “exceptional character.”

“Cliff embodies the spirit of strong leadership, compassion, and dedication to the well-being of the South-East region. As a family man with strong values, Cliff understands the importance of community, integrity, and hard work. He believes in instilling these values in the next generation, and his commitment to family is inspiring. His leadership style is built on the principles of transparency, accountability, and fairness, making him a role model for young people.

“Dr. Ogbede is also a man who does not believe in “do or die” politics. He is a strong advocate for peaceful and democratic processes, and his approach to leadership is inclusive and collaborative. He believes in building bridges, not walls, and his commitment to the well-being of all people in the South-East region is unwavering.

“As a patriot, I believe that Cliff will stop at nothing to effect positive change in our beloved region.” Dr. Wohu said.
