365Daily – The body of Hon. Justice Azuka, the Labour Party (LP) lawmaker representing Onitsha-North State Constituency in the Anambra State House of Assembly, has been discovered.

Azuka was abducted on Christmas Eve at around 9 p.m. in Ugwunakpamkpa, Inland Town, Onitsha, while returning home for the holiday celebrations. His remains were reportedly found at the popular Upper Iweka area of Onitsha.

Confirming the development on Thursday, the Public Relations Officer of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, stated that officers were in the process of retrieving the body.

“Our men are currently recovering the corpse. They should be on their way to the state police headquarters in Amawbia. We will provide an official statement once the body arrives,” Ikenga said.

When asked for further details on how the body was discovered, Ikenga declined to comment, saying, “I want my CP (Commissioner of Police) to address the press on this matter. Just wait, he will provide a briefing.”

It would be recalled that the lawmaker’s vehicle, which he was kidnapped in, was found at the same Upper Iweka area a few days after his abduction.
