The former minister for Special Duties under former President Goodluck Jonathan, Alhaji Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, has been appointed by Adolphus Wabara-led board of trustees to mediate in the current crisis over national secretary of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Tanimu’s terms of reference is to mediate in a holistic way to end feud between the two arrowheads gunning for the seat of national secretary of the party.
In his reaction, the former minister pledged to confront the issue head-on with a view to finding lasting solutions to the lingering problem.
“Our party will come out strong at the end of the day, we have identified grey areas and we are working on them”.
The senior lawyer added that such crisis are indications that the party is rooting for strong opposition which will translate to victories at the polls while appealing to aggrieved members to seek peaceful truce through mediations in the interest of the party.
Though no time limit to Tanimu’s mediation work just as members of the mediation team were not provided, but it remains to unify the party particularly the national secretary issue.
