The Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Somtochukwu Nkem Udeze has congratulated his aide, Mr. Joseph Nwosu, popularly known as JoeNewton, for being named the Overall Best Teacher in Nigeria across all categories during the 2024 Teachers’ Day celebrations. Mr. Nwosu, a native of Ochuche Umuodu in Ogbaru Local Government Area, was awarded a brand-new Hyundai accent as the star prize in recognition of his exceptional contributions to education.
Mr. Nwosu, who also serves as the Employment and Empowerment Assistant to the Speaker, was praised for his commitment to improving the lives of young learners and his positive influence in the education sector. Rt. Hon. Udeze expressed pride in Nwosu’s achievement, describing it as a significant moment not only for Ogbaru but for the entire state.
Additionally, Rt. Hon. Udeze expressed his pride in the impressive achievements of other Anambra teachers and institutions who also shone at the national level. He extended his appreciation to:
Holy Child Secondary School, Isuofia, which was recognized as the Second Best Secondary School in the federation.
Chukwudumeme Franca Adaeze of Aforigwe Primary School, Umudioka, who was awarded the title of Second Best Primary Head Teacher in the country.
Dr. Umezinwa Grace Amara of Girls High School, Uga, who earned the distinction of being the Second Best Secondary School Principal in the nation.

In his message, the Speaker extended his warm wishes to all teachers across Anambra State and Nigeria in commemoration of the Teachers’ Day celebration.
He acknowledged the critical role teachers play in shaping society and building the future, urging them to remain dedicated to their calling. Rt. Hon. Udeze emphasized that teachers are the backbone of the nationโs development and deserve full recognition and support.
