IGP presents cheques to families of deceased police officers in Benue

Beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the IGP for remembering them within a very short time, emphasizing that it has not been this easy with them after the demise of their bread-winners

The Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, yesterday in Makurdi, presents cheques worth a total of 45,887,000 to 43 beneficiaries of the police welfare scheme.

Egbetokun, represented by the Benue State Commissioner of Police, Hasan Yabanet, said the money given to families of the deceased police officers will cushion the effect of death on the families within the first one year.

The IGP in a statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, of Benue Command, SP Sewuese Anene, simpathized with the beneficiaries.

He advised those who lost their beloved ones to invest these monies into businesses that would help them to become self reliant as they wait for other benefits from the force.

Responding, beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to the IGP for remembering them within a very short time, emphasizing that it has not been this easy with them after the demise of their bread-winners.

They prayed God to bless the IGP so that he would continue to fight for the rights of police officers.
