Benue State governor, Reverend Father Hyacinth Alia, has officially declared October 4 as a work-free day.
Governor Alia, in a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Tersoo Kula, Yesterday in Makurdi, said the declaration was necessitated by his desire to give the electorate of Benue State ample opportunity to travel to their respective local government areas in preparation for the forthcoming local government elections scheduled for Saturday, October 5.
The governor emphasized the importance of active participation in the electoral process and encouraged all citizens to take advantage of this work-free day to exercise their civic duty.
