Flood: Tinubu visits Maiduguri

The Borno State capital was last Monday submerged in a flood after the Alau Dam broke, leading to loss of lives and properties.

365Daily – President Ahmed Bola Tinubu on Monday arrived Maiduguri to condole with the government and people of the state over the Alau Dam flood disaster.

The Borno State capital was last Monday submerged in a flood after the Alau Dam broke, leading to loss of lives and properties.

In response, the state government has opened 36 camps to cater for thousands of displaced persons.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Tinubu arrived the Borno State capital around 3.15 pm.

He was received by Gov. Babagana Zulum, and is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Umar-Garbai El-Kanemi.

He will then proceed to one of the internally displaced persons (IDP) camps to address the displaced persons.
