365Daily – A yet-to-be-identified man was on Monday crushed to dead after a train hit him on a railway track in Lagos State.
The incident which occurred on August 26, 2024, was confirmed by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) on Monday.
In a statement, LASEMA Permanent Secretary, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said the agency responded to a distress call about a train accident along the railway line opposite Cappa, near Oshodi in Lagos at about 6 p.m. on Monday.
Oke-Osanyintolu stated: “Upon arrival at the scene of the incident, an adult male walking along the railway track was found dead after being hit by an oncoming train.
“Further investigations revealed that the yet-to-be-identified, half-dressed adult male, died immediately on the railway track, due to the impact of the collision.
“Remains of the adult male have been bagged by the agency’s response team while awaiting arrival of the State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit officials for onward movement to the morgue.”
