Benue State Police Command has disclosed that it has neutralized three suspected bandits during one of its recent operations while several others sustained various degrees of injuries, but escaped into nearby communities.
State Commissioner of Police, Hassan Yabanet who made the disclosure in a statement said in the last one week, security agents have sustained operations in Sankera axis of the state to clamp down on bandits particularly in communities where attacks are threatened.
CP Yabanet’s statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO of Benue Command, SP Sewuese Anene in Makurdi, also revealed that Operation Zenda JTF during the period engaged the hoodlums at Mbafyan, Mbachir council ward, Katsina-ala Local Government Area and Tse-Shenge of Ukum Local Government Area in a gun battle, adding that during the separate operations, three suspected bandits were neutralized while others sustained injuries but escaped into nearby communities.
He commended officers and men who have been on frontline fighting against bandits, encouraging them to remain steadfast as well as cooperate with the good people of Sankera for useful information to clear the area of criminals.

Items recovered include one (1) Toyota Corolla, one (1) Hummer Bus, one (1) Tricycle, Twelve (12) Motorcycles and three short guns.
