Emir of Gwandu advocates unity as he inaugurates 20 GEDA Executives in Kebbi

The emir of Gwandu and chairman council of chiefs Kebbi State, Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar, on Saturday inaugurated 20 executive members of Gwandu Emirate Development Association (GEDA) at Abdullahi Fodio palace in Birnin Kebbi.

Earlier, in his speech, the royal farther urged the new excos to strive hard to strengthen the already existing unity in the emirate by bringing on board all the illustrious sons and daughters of the emirate to assist the people of Gwandu and the state.

“Your job is herculean given the situation of the country couple with your own family burden, we want to thank you for accepting to work for your own emirate”.

He admonished parents to be on the lookout for their children, know who they mingle with, give them both Islamic and western education for them to be useful to their parents and the society, saying well-brought up children will not engage in social vices like drugs addictions and other forms of criminalities.

In his speech, the new the Director General of GEDA, Alhaji Abubakar Aliyu Dangaladima (Tukuran Gwandu) thanked the emir for finding him and his team worthy of the job. He pledged to take every member along in the running of the all important association which seeks not only to unify the emirate but to build innovations in tune with the reality of life.

Tukura explained that GEDA will reintroduce Gwandu emirate students scholarship to help children of the poor in higher institutions across the country to study various disciplines that will add value to the emirate and the state at large alongside culture and traditions of the Hausa/Fulani for unity among other plans on the pipeline being hatched to propel the emirate.
