Wike will run against Tinubu in 2027, says Nwanyanwu

Once you have left, you have left, and we are trying to see that judge that would say they have not gone even when they have sworn to affidavit

The minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mr. Nyesom Wike will run against President Bola Tinubu come 2027. He would resign as a minister by early 2026 to enable me campaign and contest against the reelection of Tinubu.

This was predicted by the national chairman of Zenith Labour Party, Chief Dan Nwanyanwu on Wednesday when he featured as a guest on AIT flagship programme, Kakaaki.

Speaking further on the crisis rocking Rivers State’s polities, Nwanyanwu said it is being orchestrated by the same Wike who wants to take control of the state and use it for his 2027 ambition.

He said the former Rivers governor made a big blunder when he misadvised his loyalist in the Rivers State House of Assembly to decamp from their political party not minding the provision of law on defection.

“He could have left them in PDP to be giving Fubara headache as state assembly members. But you know, God works in mysterious ways, and it appears Fubara’s God is stronger.

“That is why most Nigerians said, no, you have gone; the only thing that would bring you back is another election from your new political party or any other party. They ran back saying they made a mistake. I have not left PDP, trying to come back through the backdoor, forgetting that they have sworn affidavit in court on oath.

“That provision 109(1g) did not give room for I withdraw, I am sorry, I didn’t mean it. Once you have left, you have left, and we are trying to see that judge that would say they have not gone even when they have sworn to affidavit. “Just like the local government chairman whose tenures expired; go and prepare and be elected back. That is how it should be done”.
