Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has announced that his administration in collaboration with the Bola Tinubu-led APC federal government has concluded arrangements to commence construction of eight major roads in Jerchira Federal Constituency of the state.
Alia who made the announcement while addressing a mammoth crowed of supporters during his thank you visit to the people of Jerchira at a ceremony held at LGEA primary school Vandeikya, during his ongoing thank you visit to the area gave names of the roads to include: Adikpo- Koti Yough, Vandeikya- Tor Ukuna- Tyam junction, Ter- Kunav- post office, Atser Kyausu- Tumba Shangbum- Abena- Shimi- linking Anza streets.
According to the governor, other roads to receive attention include: Branch Atser- Kornya city- Wuese through Tse-Agberagba and Gungur – Awajir .
Also to be constructed are Tse-Agberagba- Selagi- Tyough Gbanya, Tor Mkar- Tsue Daka- Mbaakpur- Awajir, Tsar township, Abwa- Dagba- Aramgbe- Chir, Anongo- Gbagbongon and Tse Shande roads respectively.
He said his administration in collaboration with the federal government decided to carry out the projects in appreciation for the support of Jerchira people, assuring that government is prepared to do more by procuring more buses for Benue Links company to ease transportation as well as provision of timely fertilizer to farmers to boost agricultural activities among others.
The governor who described education as the major industry in the state, urged Jerchira people to particularly embrace science education to enable them meet up with the global trend, disclosing that already 10,000 youths are undergoing training in ICT and stated that his administration intends to train about 60,000 youths in various trades for them to become useful to themselves and the society.
