National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwives, NANNM, Kebbi state branch, in a Sallah message has congratulated nurses and midwives in Kebbi state on the occasion of Eid el-Kabir.
Kebbi state branch Chairman, Alhaji Kelani Abdulwaliyu noted that Sallah is a time for sober reflection and a time to laud his members who tirelessly give care to patients across the state even on Sallah day.
“I congratulate the entire nurses and midwives in the state and other healthcare givers”.
He urged people of the state, “To pray for peace in the country because without peace nothing can be achieved, therefore an atmosphere of peace and tranquility is required for nurses to operate, and we thank God we have peace in the state”.
The nurses chief also used the occasion to thank Governor Idris for his efforts to halt nurses migration to tertiary health facilities over poor remuneration as he has put machinery on motion to fast-track the implementation of the new package for nurses and midwives domiciled in the state-owned hospitals, this he said will go a long way in boosting the morale of nurses.
Kelani admonished nurses to redouble their efforts in care-giving to complement what the government is doing to improve their lot as they are expected to give back to the society like they always do.
