The Vice Chancellor of Bingham University, Professor Haruna Kuje Ayuba has said the the institution was filling the gap created following exodus of medical doctors out of the shores of Nigeria.
Speaking at the induction of 80 medical students of the University, Ayuba commended them for their perseverance in completing the rigorous six-year clinical programme, urging the new medical doctors to be good ambassadors, commit themselves to the nation’s development and the welfare of humanity in their professional pursuits.
He announced that the induction of the medical brought to 629 number of medical doctors produced since inception.
“Out of the 80, 46 are females and 34 males were indicted. I am more excited that we are churning out more females doctors. This means we are strategically raising an educated generation as they will ensure their children also do better”, the VC stated.
He added that the mission of Bingham University is to produce graduates that have both knowledge and skills for self-reliance in the fear of Christ. “We know that you have acquired the spiritual and academic knowledge”, he added.
The Vice Chancellor charged the inductees to keep to the tenets of integrity, professionalism and exercise caution at all times while discharging their duties.
Also speaking, President of the Evangelical Church Winning All, ECWA , Rev Dr Job Ayuba Bagat Mallam, expressed confidence in the ability of each of the inductees to be great, owing to the quality of the lecturers they learned from.
The Medical Elder for the event, Pro Benjamin Ugwu urged the Inductees to be courteous, kind, respectful, and loving to patients.
Earlier, the Provost of the College of Medicine and Allied Health Sciences of Bingham University, Prof Haroun Isah urged the newly inducted medical doctors to be of good behaviour always.
