Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs and Social Welfare, Ya’u Muhammad Danda, highlighted this during the ministerial press scorecard of Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s one year anniversary.
He said the state government has procured 1,000 motorcycles and 500 electric and petrol-powered tricycles at the cost of N3.320 billion naira meant to be distributed to riders at subsidised rates.
Danda further said that would serve as a measure of economic empowerment as well as deliberate effort to boost urban transportation.
He further highlighted that the state government has restored N6,500 monthly stipend to 6,9979 registered people with disabilities across the 23 LGAs in the state with an upward review from 6,500 to N10,000 monthly.
He added that there was also an implementation of the Diversion Programme for delinquent juveniles/children in conflict with the law with support from UNICEF while assistance to the needy persons in the state has been enhanced.

Another achievement among others as enumerated by the Commissioner is workshop on Humanitarian Principles, Protection Mainstreaming, Service Mapping and IDPs Policies in collaboration with Grassroot Initiative for Strengthening Community Resilience and funding from Danish Refugee Council.
In a relative development, millions of naira was used to cloth children in orphanages and remand homes similarly millions for the purchase of animals for the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
